Frequently asked questions

What is Flowerbook?

A step counter that keeps a journal. Walk 5,000 steps and today's flower blooms. Collect it and it is pressed onto today's page in your book, with the date and the steps that earned it. No rings to close and no calorie charts, just a reason to get outside today.

How do I get today's flower?

Walk 5,000 steps and the flower is ready on the Home screen. Drag it down and a storm of petals gathers, in the colour of its rarity, into today's flower. If it's one you already have, its count multiplies instead. Tap Collect and the book flies open on today's page.

What goes on a page?

Every day you walk gets a page: the flower, taped on at an angle, with the date and your steps under it. Write a few words if you like (a title, a bold line, a highlighter) and they flow around the flower. Add a photo from your gallery or camera with a frame, tape or a border, or cut the subject out right on your phone. Move, tilt and resize anything on the page.

What happens if I miss a day?

Today's flower only blooms today. A missed day keeps its page in the book with the flower you let slip, in grey, and it still takes a note. With Flowerbook Plus you can bring back a flower from a day you walked but missed.

What are weekly flowers?

Every week you pick a set of seven flowers, one for each day. Every set is 5,000 steps a day. On the Home screen, look back on any month as a calendar, every flower on the day you walked it, and tap a day to open its page.

Does it count steps from my Apple Watch?

Yes. Flowerbook counts steps on your iPhone, and when you connect Apple Health your Apple Watch and other trackers count too. Health access is read-only and only used for your steps and statistics.

Do I need an account?

No. You can walk, collect and write without one. Sign in with Apple, Google or your phone number if you'd like to keep your flowers safe when you change phones.

What statistics does Flowerbook show?

Your walking by day, week, month, year or all time: steps and averages, goal days and your streak, your best day, week and hour, and a 28-day trend. Flowerbook Plus adds a goal map, an hourly rhythm clock, a weekday-by-hour heatmap, distance and floors as journeys, and Apple Health's walking speed, step length, steadiness and balance. Everything is computed on your phone and never uploaded.

Is Flowerbook free?

Yes, and every flower stays free for everyone. Flowerbook Plus is an optional subscription: it opens the Plus flower sets each week, lets you swap the week's choices once a week, brings back missed flowers, backs up your notes and unlocks the deeper statistics. Nothing you've collected is taken away if you stop.

Will it send me a lot of notifications?

No. At most two a day, never after 9 pm, and never a guilt trip.

Are there widgets?

Yes. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show today's steps and flower.

Which devices does it work on?

Flowerbook is an iPhone app and works on iOS 18 and above.

What about my privacy?

There are no ads and no tracking across other apps or websites. Your notes and photos stay on your iPhone unless you choose to back your notes up, and photos are never uploaded. Your Health data is never sold or used for advertising. The privacy policy at the bottom of this page has the details.

How do I get help?

Support is one tap away in the app's Settings.
